Find out all you need to know about the facilities at the Largs Holiday Home – a bright third floor flat in central Largs just minutes from Largs varied shops, restaurants, railway station, ferry terminal, buses, supermarket, Express market and town centre. Fabulous panoramic views  of Greater Cumbrae and Firth of Clyde Estuary.

Hot news! The Largs Holiday Home is now wifi enabled. Bring your laptop, your iPad, your Wii or any other wireless enabled device and plug into our wireless broadband. Of course, this is not for everyone so we’ve excluded wifi from the accommodation cost. Want wifi? It’s only £10 per week irrespective of how much you use it.

Lounge / Sitting room

Our flat offers a front-facing spacious lounge with a truly beautiful view over the Clyde Estuary through the bay windows.    With large, comfortable leather sofas, a widescreen TV with satellite channels you can spend time with your friends or family in complete comfort. With a large dining area with stylish wooden table and chairs - you can get everyone together for a delicious home cooked meal (or a local Carry-Out!).

The view from the huge bay windows is spectacular. Sit back and enjoy it.

Over 140 different TV channels available including foreign language channels, children’s channels and more. Details of current channels can be found on the Freesat Television website

Bedroom 1

When you’re finished exploring the town and the islands you’ll love falling into our cosy, clean beds. The double bedroom has a glorious sea view with a modern double bed, bedside table and lamps as well as a spacious chest of drawers. So there’s plenty of space for your walking gear – or shopping bags.

Bedroom 2

With views towards the brae and town centre, the second bedroom is comfortably furnished with two single beds, bedside tables and lights. The beds can be pushed together to make another double if you want. Clean, cosy, comfy and perfect for a great night’s sleep. This room comes with a huge wardrobe for all your kit.

There is also a sleeping bag n the hall cupboard.

Kitchen

The kitchen is compact, modern and full of everything you’ll need to make your holiday easier.  All electrical goods are brand new and energy efficient. The kitchen includes

  • washing/tumbler machine,
  • fridge freezer,
  • microwave oven
  • toaster
  • electric cooker and kettle.

There are brand new stylish crockery, glasses and cutlery – plenty for everyone.  An ironing table and iron can be found in the hall cupboard.

Bathroom

Unlike many apartments, our bathroom actually has a bath! Spacious and comfortable the room also boasts an in-bath shower, toilet, wash-hand basin and towel drier radiator.  In addition, there is a vanity / medicine cabinet with mirror for your toiletries. Clean, warm and beautifully decorated in marine colours – you’ll love soaking away the day in this bathroom.

General notes

The flat has been thoroughly insulated, with modern central heating for each room installed and tested in the last few months, with digital thermostat control in the hallway to ensure your continued comfort during your stay. The flat is fully double glazed, creating a warm, tranquil and draught-free environment.

The Building

Sandringham is a Victorian tenement apartment building of a very high standard and in excellent condition. Well-maintained by all its residents and well specified, the building boasts many original features including the Scottish-made stained glass adorning the landing (or close as we call it in Scotland)

Parking

There is ample parking space outside the building and round the corners from the entrance to the building. All parking within the vicinity is free and without restriction. In peak season and on holiday weekends it can be a little restricted but should still allow easy access.

Smoking

Sorry, smoking is not permitted within the Largs Holiday Home. Nor is it permitted within the stairwell outside the flat. If you smoke you will need to do so outside the outer front door of the flat. Sorry, leaning out the living room window does not count!

Children

Largs Holiday Home welcomes children of all ages. We have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the flat is child-safe.   There are no open fires, the windows have safety catches, there are open socket covers and the door to the landing is lockable. The two single beds in bedroom 2 are perfect for children from about 3 upwards and there is space for a travel cot. We can supply a foldable travel cot for a small additional fee. Please ask.

Pets

Sorry, we do not accept pets. For the wellbeing and health of all our guests, we need to ensure our home remains allergen free.

Access

To give you the great views across the Ayrshire coast and the tranquility of being away from street noise, it means our flat has to be up a few stairs. So, as long as you’re ok with climbing steps to the third floor to benefit from a fabulous sea view, then this flat is for you. Sorry, it’s a Victorian sandstone building, so there are no lifts, elevators or escalators! If you are not sure if your needs can be catered for, please drop us a line. We’ll be happy to help!

Location & Local Facilities

The Largs Holiday Home flat is exceptionally convenient for the facilities in the town of Largs itself.  The railway station is merely 5 minutes walk from the flat, the same distance to the Cumbrae Ferry.  The walk along the seafront is moments away.  The shops are just around the corner, and there are bus stops plus a taxi rank on the Main Street, not far at all from the flat. There is a mid-sized supermarket (Morrisons) nearby, Tesco Express, a number of national banks as well as lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants moments from the flat.

The Small Print

  • The property is hired on the basis that the apartment is for holiday use only, and visitors can only remain in the flat until the agreed leaving date.
  • E-Mail and Telephone reservations will be held for up to seven days pending receipt of deposit.
  • If cheques are used for payment, they should be made payable to Ms L Jordan and must be in Sterling. The booking will then be confirmed by email.
  • The full balance is payable not later than 2 weeks before the arrival date. If the original booking is made later than 2 weeks before the arrival date, payment plus deposit is required at the time of booking.
  • Bookings, unless otherwise agreed, are on a weekly basis from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 11am.
  • In the event of cancellation, the deposit will be retained by Ms Jordan and is not returnable.
  • In the event of the property becoming unavailable through any unavoidable cause (eg. fire, flood) the proprietor’s liability is limited to the amount of rent paid.
  • The proprietor reserves the right not to accept a booking, or to refuse entry if any of the booking conditions are not met.
  • The guest is expected to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition as found on arrival. The guest is also responsible for the cost of any damage done to the property or its contents.
  • The use of the accommodation and facilities are entirely at the risk of the guests and no responsibility can be accepted for any injury incurred, nor for any loss of, or damage to, any of the guests’ personal possessions.
  • Details of key collection will be sent to you prior to your holiday.
  • Prices may be subject to change, but this will not affect any bookings already confirmed and where at least a deposit has been paid.
